You missed the mark, Netflix: Fuller House and Professional Postpartum Care
Spoiler Alert! Season 5 of Fuller House was released by Netflix this morning. Episode 1 begins when Stephanie and family return home from the hospital with their new baby girl and it is revealed that she has hired a postpartum doula. When I saw that professional postpartum support and care would be featured in a comical, cheesy show that I have always loved, I was thrilled! That was until I saw the way in which this doula was represented. It was completely disheartening for

Reading Recommendation!
Reading recommendation! The Happy Sleeper is one of my favorite guides, specifically for the 0-4 month age range. The “soothing ladder” is an incredible visual reference for parents and caregivers, helping baby establish self soothing skills from day one and stretching night sleep while always attending to baby’s needs. Finding this book, the 0-4 month chapter more closely represents my own method as a Newborn Care Specialist than any other I have found! Find your copy here:

Take the confusion out of breastmilk storage!
Storing breastmilk can be confusing, but it doesn't have to be! Here are a few of my tips and recommendations when storing and feeding human milk. Milk can be stored in a glass container with a leakproof lid, a BPA-free hard plastic container with a leakproof lid, or polyethylene breastmilk freezer storage bags. You will want to store milk in a quantity that your baby is likely to take in one feeding to avoid wasting any leftover milk in the container. For babies 1-2 weeks
